Two New Books

My two most recent books zoom in on the latest work of firms in Nova Scotia and Brazil. I am pleased to have worked on both with Oscar Riera Ojeda and his talented team.
Greetings. At present, I write for architecture and design magazines including Metropolis, Architect’s Newspaper and other regional and national publications.
I studied journalism at Loyola University New Orleans and hold an ALM (master’s degree) in the history of art and architecture from Harvard University, where my thesis on Brazilian modernist design received an Honorable Mention, Best ALM Thesis, June 2007.
My other recent works include The Home Office Reimagined: Places to Think, Reflect, Work, Dream and Wonder, published by Rizzoli New York in February 2024. I am at present under contract with Rizzoli to produce a book about residential green roofs.
My most recent articles are available by clicking the list at right. More articles are available under the “Archive” section of this website.
After decades in New York and Boston, I now live in my hometown of Mobile, Alabama.
As an accomplished photographer, my images have appeared in Boston Magazine, ArchitectureBoston, Boston Business Journal and other design and business publications. See the Gallery section for a sampling of this work.

To right, from top, see three other book collaborations – The Home Office Reimagined, a timely book about designing for home work on five continents. Strata: A Desert Dwelling – a complete chronicle of the design and construction of a large house in suburban Phoenix. Finally xrange: inspired by constraints, a look at the latest work of one of Asia’s top design studios, based in Taiwan.
